Capturing Moments in Time

There are moments when I just can't help but take out my camera and try to capture a memory. All of these pictures of these types of moments.

I adore that my ten year old (almost eleven) thinks NOTHING of playing in a play house. He is completely himself and I am so thankful.

These beauties! The hens, the leaves!!!

These two together ~ are pure sweetness. They are both dramatic and the babies of the family, great communicators and real friends.

My Family

While we were away last weekend I attempted to quickly take some pictures of my children on Sunday before church. I have been following Joy Prouty on Instagram and she has inspired me to allow my children to be themselves in their photos more. That translates into not trying to get that perfect smile. However in these pictures it was not easy and I did cajole and bribe my three year old in attempts to get him to smile. We got some 'real' photos and some smile photos. My children are growing so quickly now. The dragging stages of exhaustion and sickness seem to have become a little fartherout on the horizon. New challenges are arising but at this point in time they seem less alarming and less overwhelming than the last eleven years have been for me. I am grateful for this of course but it also makes me realize how quickly life is flying by now.

First of all here is a picture of our whole family that my friend took. My three year old was NOT in the mood and I had not really planned our outfits honestly but we are who we are.

                                                             Oh what a family

Here is my oldest. She is almost thirteen. She is wearing my sweater and her eyes......

Here is my almost eleven year old. He is wearing jeans and button up collared shirt for the first time in years on his own volition. In most of his pictures I have a tree coming out of his head or a fence post attacking his neck.

Here is my seven year old. She is the sweetest little sweet pea ever.

Here is the baby of the family. He is kickin my butt right now with his will. Love him to pieces!!!!

You can see by the cut off arms or the blurriness that I could not be trusted to take other people's photos but it is great to practice on my family. They are so sweet.

So that is our Fall Family Photos for 2017 I think.
Have a great week.

The Making of a Wreath

I don't often try to be creative but there is that random couple times a year where I try to 'make' something. Today it was a wreath. My sister came to visit and I had been compiling the wreath components for a while and it seemed like the perfect day to bring them out and try to create. It was fun. The children were all involved and my sister helped immensely. I love the finished product ~  it is me to a T. It is not trendy it doesn't really go together all that well but from my perspective it all works. It was so fun to do this.

I bought the wreathe form and moss from Walmart.

This is the top of some very tall grass that grew in my yard this year that we just cut down and the little bow came tied on a jar.

My friend's daughter is starting a felting business so I asked her to please felt me some acorns and mushrooms. She did a perfect job.

A little dollar store birdy taken off an old wreath in my bedroom

The pine cones were given to me today by a sweet friend ~ perfect timing.

These are the mushrooms she felted. They are the sweetest!!!!

My seven year old made a nature display during the wreathing process. I kept having to take things off the plate for the wreath and she was not impressed.
