Vain

In all my life there have been few vain moments. I am a realist of sorts to some degree and have never seen myself as any form of beauty. However something I have appreciated about myself is my hair. It has always been thick (well after it eventually grew in at the age of two) and mostly long and untamed. I have received many interesting and varied comments on it my whole life. There was once a time most of it fell out and it was just few inches long and everything about me felt wrong.

I have often wondered how I will feel when my hair color changes and in many respects everything changes as I age. Slowly that time is coming for me. The other day I got my daughter who was immobile on the couch from an injury to just take a picture of my hair. It was my vain moment if you will.

As I grow up I realize how vital it is to thank parts of yourself that have been vital to who you are. There are your talents, your gifts, your brain, your sensitive soul, but there are also your eyes, your hair, there is you and all your parts.

So thanks to my hair. I posted this on instagram as well. It is something Ive been thinking about it.

Thanks to my hair.
