An Evening Camping

Wood smoke as the sun sets

Gentle glimmers of the last rays of light

Filter through thin branches and needles

Over hanging moss and through the smoke

Peaceful sweet breezes and buzzing mosquitoes

Crackling fire and high pitched children's voices

We are all growing in various ways

Taller towards the sun

Clearer in eyes and hearts

Souls fed from all of this

The life we live now

Is exhausting

Rampant anxiety and never ending pressure

These moments remind us of our purpose

To nourish our souls in nature's beauty

To rest by a warm crackling fire

To fill eyes full of rich wildflower colors

To collect rocks, carve up sticks, gather pinecones,

Jump in fresh water and feel warm and free in the sun

To be together

To feel peace
