I often feel I was born in the wrong era. Going to visit this historic place was so wonderful. Much of it was closed to do Covid regulations but it was still well worth the trip. I hope to go back one day and experience it in all its pre covid glory...already another set of 'olden days' those blissful days before Covid. While there we were able to go into some stores they had set up and we purchased bonnets and an apron, an elastic gun, a backpack, a rock magnet, a miner's breakfast, tea, ink and a pen for it, a snow globe and candle holders. We also got candy and ice cream. It was a child's paradise. I experienced a mini heart attack by almost walking INTO a lynx who was intent on hunting the marmot that lived under the buildings. We saw real gold nuggets and used our imagination to the fullest. It was a perfect day for us. We left with full hearts. There was no cell phone reception, there was only us and some strangers all experiencing the same wonder we were. So as you enjoy these photos let your mind imagine the life your great grandparents lived and how rich it made them on so many levels. How things were complicated in their simplicity, and how much has changed!
