Happy Friday ~
I find Summer is aging a bit. She is showing her wear and tear. Leaves are not the fresh vibrant green of Spring or the rich deep green of early Summer, but a more aged and faded green, some have dried to almost nothing. The corn has grown from tiny sweet wisps in the ground to tall strong adolescent almost adulthood stalks. Many Summer flowers have bloomed once and are on their second go round if they have that option and people are browned by days at the lake. The Winter and Spring pale skin has changed to strident freckles or nut brown and many toe nails are painted bright pops of color. Summer is in full swing. It is not new, it is not young, it is in full maturity and it is beautiful. How delightful to live in a world where there are seasons and how glad I am to enjoy so fully each and every one.
This weekend marks the time my husband starts his days off. The children are so excited. I hope for their sake he can muster the energy to make whatever dreams in their hearts come true...although the baby is sure beyond a doubt that his daddy is going to make a boat and take them out on the water...
This week in my town there were supposed to be record days of heat but then smoke rolled in, so heavy the sun looked like it was angry, and the smoke shielded us from the glare to some degree. Today it feels almost cool. I am going to take the day to try to clean my house a bit. In summer there are always bare and dirty feet coming through and we have walls that need washing badly, counters, cabinets, floors you name it they are dirt covered.
My two girls are at their last day of dance camp. They have both never danced before so I thought this might be fun for them to try. They did both ballet and hip hop and my six year old liked hip hop and my twelve year old liked ballet. My ten year old has been working hard on his summer Math program working towards catching up to his grade level. He has a long way to go but he has also come so far. My two year old is more devoted to 'Pepper' Peppa Pig now than Paw Patrol and is very very opinionated. Some of his days are just more screaming than anything, but we get by.
Upwards and onwards we go.
Have a lovely long weekend if you live in Canada. Have a lovely weekend all the rest ~
Love Tansy
Today was a screaming day broken up by adventures!!!
