January is almost complete and I am remembering the end of December and how I welcomed the New Year. It was a dear friend's birthday and she had asked that a group of her friend's accompany her to a place she loves to go to and spend a couple days celebrating her. It was a time of togetherness that I highly appreciated. We arrived on a dreary rainy day and ended in brilliant sunlight and warmth. I am thankful that my year started this way...in the togetherness. It nurtured my soul deeply. I wish this was something I could do more regularly and hope that in the future it is something I am able to facilitate. I hope the first month of your year has been a success for you whether you had goals or just hoped to feel more uplifted I hope that it has worked out for you. My first month of the year has had its highs and lows and I am thankful to be where I am doing what I am doing.
Here are some pictures for you to see from the trip. I hope if you are in need of some time away that somehow that door will open for you and you will be nourished and blessed as I was.
Our ferry ride was dreary and cold outside but our company and conversation was warm and wonderful inside.
Our destination was a beautiful log cabin situated amongst trees and beside a little creek. We made ourselves at home.
We each took turns making meals that had been planned with care. They were delicious.
We had different moments for reading meaningful passages and doing different activities.
Stretching the body..moving to music.
Gifts of light.
The setting of this cabin was perfection.
The Ocean was close and we were blessed by its' grandeur.
The dinners were from different ethnicities and home made. I was so inspired and everything was so flavorful and delicious.
A sunny morning!
Being cozy was so lovely.
Happy birthday my dear friend. May you go forward in blessing and love, filled with light and hope, and chalk full of assurance and peace.

Oh wow, this made me a bit teary. I remember my 16th birthday was similar but I was so young. Doing this for your 30 something or 40th birthday would be so much richer. Absolutely beautiful both pictures and writing.
