The Weekend!!!

Oh my word I was so anxious today! And my husband helped to just drain it all away. It was so incredibly kind of him. I just could not handle the thought of a massive grocery shop. Don't ask me why. There are so many reasons why grocery shopping kills me. I wish I could just do the ordering on line but I am so old fashioned that seems even more stressful for me! So he did the grocery shopping AND he also bought a vaccum which was another huge stressor. How ridiculous considering what is going on in the world...fires here in my province, floods all over, hurricanes, war... the list goes on, and I am anxious about grocery shopping. Oh dear!!!!

Since he did that though my Saturday felt manageable and because of that...tomorrow my husband and the children and I are hiking up a mountain that overlooks our valley (because I have the energy to do all the prep for it). Since my husband got a new job he was given a truck that we can all just fit in. This truck can get over the roads that lead to the trail head which are not paved and quite rough. I have not hiked this mountain for thirteen years. We are super last minute a lot of the time so we didn't decide to go until tonight. I got busy making zucchini cake, cookies and packing tons of food for all six of us. My husband dug through stuff to find forgotten hiking back packs and other gear we have not used for so long. He will carry our three year old on his back, although I am hoping the three year old will do lots of walking himself). The kids are so excited. I just wonder how excited they will be when the heaviness of their back packs set in because I am NOT carrying their water bottles!! I just hope we make it to the top. We are NOT hikers so it should be quite the memorable experience!!!

By the way...the drought here has lifted. The rain has come.

I hope you have a happy Sunday and a great week.

Love Tansy

  1. Wow - what an awesome post! Way to pull together and help one another - look at all you can do when you work together. I need to remind myself of this daily. I cannot do it all on my own but it's amazing what I can do when I have help and support. I can't wait to see the pictures of the hike and hear how it went on your next post. That's a HUGE hike!!!
