I Come Back To This Often

How are you this morning? Are you doing alright? Do you feel a sense of connection with those you love? Do you feel at peace? How are the people in your life? Are they healthy, doing well? I hope that your life is wonderful right now. I hope you feel a sense of all being safe and good and lovely. However if it is not, as much as that sucks don't give up today.  It seems to me that people who go through a lot of hard things have such opportunity to become so much more beautiful on the inside. They are given this unique and often horrible opportunity to develop a richness inside them ~ of compassion, empathy, awareness, strength and the capability to find beauty in the most darkest time. None of this richness comes from an easy stress free life. That does not make what you are going through any better but it does eventually give you opportunity to reach past yourself and make a difference for someone else...kinda like what you need someone to do for you right now because no matter how you feel you are not alone.
I have realized over time that everyone does struggle. There are people out there that do a heck of a job portraying a life that looks perfect. You can see them dropping their children off at school or visit them at their home or see their life on Social Media and they always look beautiful and their house is spotless and perfect and the list continues. I really admire the capabilities of people who can do this. I often wish I could do this. Does that make sense? I do not have the capability to even attempt to pull off that look. I love how women can have their hair and makeup done every morning and a pretty outfit. I love that people can afford to go on vacations often and have all these amazing hobbies or ministries. I love that there are moms that can have the energy to have their children in multiple sports and also work and just juggle it all. I just can't and often I feel bad about that.  However I am who I am and you are who you are.
Just remember that no matter what someone puts out there they are human. They have struggles too. If they have become masters at hiding their issues there is probably (not always but often) a lot of fear and anxiety just below the surface. Once at a class I took they talked about the mother duck in the water. She looks so calm on the surface but underneath her feet are working furiously. I think that is true about a lot of us in our society in North America. If you are struggling with feeling like you are a disaster, not enough, totally ruined or a failure....take a second and stop. Who are you comparing yourself with? Do you honestly think that no one else is struggling the way you are? There is someone else going through it too. Each of us has their own journey, their own path, but at the same time we all go through hard heart breaking things and it all holds opportunity. It sucks though.
So if today you are still in your 'house clothes' aka your PJ's and you have not even brushed your teeth, your face is not washed and you feel disgusting I feel ya. If you want to take a couple minutes to shower and brush your teeth it might help life feel that much more liveable but if you just cant its okay. Do your best to get outside today and touch a flower. Do your best to eat something that will nourish your body. Is there someone you can reach out to that will show you love? Reach out. You are worth it. You are valuable. No matter what you are going through in life you are not the only one going through what you are going through. I think the biggest lie we can tell ourselves is just that. That we are the only one. That makes the problem, the heart break, the overwhelm become something that is so immense and unmovable. Try not to buy into that any chance you get. Fill you heart with truth. Something I sometimes do is buy cue cards and write truth on them and tape them to my mirrors, stove, dash board, doors, anyplace at eye level to try to fill my eyes and mind with truth.
You are not alone. You are loved. You are worthy. You are precious! No matter how much of a disaster you are and how bad life is right now you are not lost.
Sending you love ~ Tansy
