Today I have gone between being so exhausted I was collapsed into bed and then catching up on four loads of laundry, nursing the baby, washing a pile of dishes, finishing reading a small novel to the children we have been working on, driving for school drop off and pick up, going to see some new ducklings at a park, making numerous breakfasts and lunches and this day is far from over. It is the first day of May. My little corner of the world is glorious right now. Flowers are in bloom everywhere. Leaves are finally starting to break free and appear. There is still a lot of rain but almost every day the sun will peek through the clouds to say hello. The winter is past.
Thank the good Lord.
I have a friend who lives in Jamaica and through the winter I start to get desperate with envy as every one of her pictures is full of sunshine. Her children are rarely ill even though they are in contact with so many people all the time and she is capable of an astounding amount of things.
The sun is full of life.
This winter my children were ill one after the other from December until April. We struggled under all sorts of loads. However this winter was one where anxiety did not rule our house in the way it has for years. It was a Winter of victory even though it did me in as much as it could.
I am so thankful when each Winter gives way to the new life of Spring. What relief.
I write to remember.
Have a lovely day
Tansy
