By The Wayside

I live on a small island that is about five minutes from town. I drive to town every day usually either for school or errands. The drive to town is beautiful. In face the beauty is staggering. There are majestic mountains, wide green fields, horses and cows by streams and I often see Bald Eagles soaring above me. However when I am almost to the bridge I see something that takes my breath away every single time and in many ways it is so much smaller. Someone decided to sew some wild flowers on a small patch of dirt beside the road. I have been meaning to stop to try to capture the beauty and finally I did. These pictures don't really do it justice but you'll get the idea. It is funny that this is what I look forward to every time just a bit more than everything else.

I love how unashamed flowers are. They are content in their beauty and happy to share their brilliance with the world.
